computer issues...

So just a few days ago, my computer crashed. idk what is wrong with it (hard disk drive, maybe?) but here's how it goes:

(btw, my laptop is a SONY VAIO, CR220E, running on Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit)

When I start up, I get two options on a black screen:
-To launch system repair (without disk)
-To start up normally

The normal "start up" option brings me here.

The "system repair" option brings me here:

(Sorry for the blurriness, but it says:
File: \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe
Status: 0xc00000e9)

So taking step one (in the last pic) into consideration, I searched google, and a lot of blog posts led me to this site:

neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

where I downloaded the 32-bit Vista disk in ISO format, burnt it onto a disk and stuck it into the comp.

after a while, it brings me to this screen:

and then here, where I clicked on "repair your computer":

after a while, I come up to this screen:

Looking at this, and comparing with some of the results I've found, it states that I have no OS installed. I think that has a critical role in what is wrong with my comp.

Continuing, after clicking next, and then System Repair, I get to this screen where it looks like a loading bar, and the screen claims to be looking for problems and trying to fix it. after an hour or so, I get this result:

It said it "completed successfully" so I thought my issue was finally resolved. Oh, how wrong I was... I ran this for another 2-3 more times, and I got the same result. :(

So, I'm like "eff it! I am going to reinstall vista!!!"

And then some..

And then I finally came to this screen, a roadblock....

So, my suspicions are that the hard disk drive is damaged. I decided to take it out and rescue as many files as I could. It turns out that it was so damaged, I could not rescue anything.

I used this program called GetDataBack for NTFS.

Nothing was rescued because I guess it was too damaged.

Another symptom is that when i plugged my hard disk drive (via enclosure and a USB cable) into another computer, the computer has trouble reading it, freezes for a bit, and gives up on reading it altogether (I did this with two computers already).

Can someone help me with this? Do I have to get a new hard drive??? reinstall vista? both?!?!?!!
HELP!

Gadgets That I Need:

- one of those tiny laptops, for portable writing
- a digicam
- a camcorder
- possibly a new iPod (if i dont find my lost one)

Texting record

I have AT&T, and recently got unlimited texting. As of the 5/02/09 - 6/01/09 bill cycle, I have a record of 1,683 texts within that cycle.

I will not be posting my number here, but damn, its a goal of mine to beat that record. lol

Father's Day/Birthday

Not to sound too self-absorbed, but my birthday always seems eventful. I looked it up on Wikipedia (because I am a dork):

-Longest day of the year (Summer Solstice, the borderline between Gemini, and Cancer)
-Prince William's Birthday,
-My auntie and uncle's anniversary (they got married the day I was born)
-My cousin and my Nyab's anniversary (they had their American wedding 2008)
-Father's Day (1992, 1998, 2009)
-6th grade promotion (2001)

etc etc.

Its not for all these reasons why I love the day I was born... I am a sun baby. Although I dont really like the heat much, I do enjoy the fact that it is on the longest day of the year. :D But then again, for the past few years, my "thunder" was stolen quite often. Last year, the wedding, this year, my dad. lol. Not to mention that I had to work yesterday too, but I didn't mind. I needed a little extra cash anyway.

It was funny when my co-worker asked "when are you gonna turn 21?"
and I answered, "In 365 days". It took her a while to catch on that that day was my birthday.

But I really cannot wait till my next birthday, my 21st BIRTHDAY, my GOLDEN BIRTHDAY! lol. It might be a night to remember... or if I get too wasted, probably not.

No, I did not get wasted yesterday. It was a party for the Daddies, so yeah. The Father's Day cake was good though.

Summer School Sucks!

Summer? I can't really say that it sucks so far.... The right word for it... should be eventful. Yes, eventful. Work has began to get interesting. I realized that I should really open up myself some more, so people wont misunderstand me so much. I realized how much I have taken for granted.

I have the greatest family in the world.
I have the greatest friends in the world.

I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world.

Summer school... sucks. lol. I really shouldn't say that.... because 'tis I who really sucks.... at Calculus... no, Calc II. To be honest, I really do understand what the teacher's teaching... its just that she shoots right through the lesson. I have no time to study, due to work and life. I have recieved the worst score I have ever gotten on a test. :S

but I know, I will bring it up by the end of summer. I really need to... for my next semester's schedule's sake!!! gahhH!!!

Speaking of next semester, Japanese should be fun. :D

Both Epik High and Utada CANCELLED.

So when I heard that Epik High was doing a tour (I heard this not too long ago), I was stoked. But the thing was, their show sold out on the first day. However, they were scheduled to do a store signing at Verizon, who was one of the sponsors for the tour. There was a signing scheduled for yesterday (thursday, May 14) in San Francisco, in which I would attend. Coincidentally, Utada was also scheduled for a signing at Best Buy in SF an hour later after Epik High's started.

COOLNESS! I thought.

Hiting both would definately be awesome. Since I was going to be in SF fir Epik High's, I might as well go to Utada's too.

Well, it turns out that Utada cancelled hers because she was sick. She has peritonsillitis.

No biggie. I was stilll going.

After losing track of time around Union City (we go there for Daiso), and losing our way through SF for the millionth time (it takes us forever to find Van Ness and Geary), we finally came across the Verizon Wireless store that Epik High was supposed to be at.

That's right. SUPPOSED is the key word here. They didn't show. I was quite disappointed that we travelled all that way for... well... basically nothing?

Well, they were still doing contests for concert tickets and meet and greet passes. I was dragged into the dance competition, in which i made a complete fool of myself. :S

But its all cool, just as long as its erased from my memory. :S

But at least, for those who showed up, you get a mailed-in autographed epik high poster.

"and it better be personal too!" is what my sister said.

Korean Music Festival | The Adventures of Momo

Korean Music Fest in L.A. wasn't all that bad. The line-up cannot compare to last year's though, in my opinion. But the entertainment overall, was okay. The line-up, they used all the non-popular/classical people first, which bored me throughout the first 3/4 of the show. Nevertheless, I rooted for them, but when all the modern pop performers came on (ss501, SHINee, etc etc) I was already out of energy. :S I was really disappointed when SHINee came on, and only did TWO songs!!! grrr!!! i was looking forward to more performances from them. but yeah, I'll quit my rambling. here are some pictures:

and so it begins...

To be honest, I am a forum addict, but there are only a few forums that I am dedicated to, and I have the obligation of administering one, which I am also quite satisfied to do.

This particular site needs major updating to do, and I have a lot of work on it... ideas that need to be dug out and put to use... but once I get finished with it, will let you know. :D

Equal Oportunity Employment

I am just a college student, out on my own, looking forward to making a bit of extra cash through some simple job, whether its working with food, or in an office or whatnot. I never gave much thought about the hiring process, or the other side of hiring on the spot.

I heard from a source that this place was going to give out open interviews for at least an hour. When I got there, I already saw that the manager was already giving thorough interviews, and had plenty of more clients to go. It was some sort of restaurant job, in which I already have experience, so I wasn't so worried on how I would answer the questions -- I was confident. I chose a spot to sit, and later, the interviewer, whom I assume was the manager, had to migrate to a spot about 5 feet away from me.

I minded my own business, but at the same time, I couldnt help but eavesdrop when the manager requested the music in the dining room to be lowered. She asked them typical interview questions, relating to the job, relating to life, none that I haven't heard after 4 months of job searching. I felt like I had the upper hand because I could basically hear what I was going to encounter.

One that stood out was an interview with this girl, whom apparently was still attending high school. Apparently, she also had a brother who works with the company. When the manager heard this, she was pleased and spoke to her jubilantly. I caught certain words and answers, that really didn't matter to me. after about 10 minutes, her interview was over, and she left with a satisfied smile on her face.

Next was a girl who was quite young, because when the manager heard her age, she then said: "Oh hun, I'm not even supposed to interview you yet! Youre too young!" or something like that. But interestingly, this girl was born on the same day as I was.

After that quick interview, she left, and it was my turn. I greeted her, introducing myself. She then turned to a stern serious face, her voice made her seem as if she was being rushed, which I found a bit insulting, especially when she didn't even introduce herself in return. I presented my application, as well as my resume. She went on asking me about who I knew in the company, and general questions that related to the job. And then she asked about my hours. I told her that I was a student, just looking for evening hours and weekends.

Thats when she said "Now, let me stop you before you waste your time." Uh-oh. Red flag. She told me she wasn't looking to hire any more evening and weekend crew, since shes already got what she needed. "I'll keep your resume on file.. blah blah." There goes my resume in the trash can.

When I walked out, I felt something rush through my veins. Some sort of anger, yet only enough to cause a spark and a worry. When I reached the street, I realized that my interview only lasted 3 minutes, and the high school girl before me had it for at least 10. And then I also realized that the girl also went to high school, in which, obviously doesnt get out till after 3. And her home is miles away from the place too! She also had a relative who worked there, which worked in her favor.

And then, I realized that she was hiring "on the spot." The application said that that place was an "equal opportunity employer," yet they never gave me a chance to explain myself, yet she gave her a chance. Also, I felt that the manager was in favor of the girl because she had relatives who worked there. If that place didn't discriminate against race or color or religion, why be in favor of someone who has never had a job, and who has a cousin's sister's aunt working there?

Oh well... I guess I am just upset because I didn't get as much of a chance to prove myself in that interview as well as the other girl did. As unfair as I found it, I figured, it wasn't my loss anyway.
